About

I am a Lecturer and Senior Research Scientist in the Economics Department at Baylor University where my research is focused on health care markets, particularly provider responses to policy shocks, and mental health care in criminal justice. Although, these lines of research are distinct, both promise to inform policy: one stream focuses on anticompetitive effects of hospital consolidation and vertical integration, and the other stream focuses on policies to reduce suicidality and improve mental health of disadvantaged populations.

Prior to shifting my primary focus to health care, I worked as a consultant for The Perryman Group, a financial and economics analysis firm, from 2011 until I joined the PhD program in 2016. As a Senior Consultant, I performed statistical, financial, and economic analyses in civil litigation and other studies covering a wide array of subject areas such as patent infringement, antitrust, healthcare, technology, and others. I also served as a data analytics consultant in a marketing startup that served professional sports teams during the PhD program. In addition to my consultancy positions, I taught Engineering Economy at Baylor University.
